The Holy Trinity and Modern Men¡¯s False and Poisonous Trinities(2025-06-15)

In the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. Dear faithful, the coronation of the 1st half of the liturgical year is the feast of the Holy Trinity. The mystery of the Nativity shows us God the Father who sends God the Son Who becomes Man to redeem us. The mysteries of Holy Week shows us God the Son actually redeeming us by his passion and death on the Cross. In Pentecost we see God the Holy Ghost sanctifying us, that is to say taking possession of our souls thru sanctifying grace.

It is only possible for us to truly be God¡¯s children, to act and live as God¡¯s children, to be heirs of eternal happiness with God, these can only be possible if God is really present in our soul thru sanctifying grace. And we can only be in this state of grace if God knows and loves us supernaturally.

God knows and loves a rock naturally, God knows and loves a dog naturally. The same can be said of the stars in heaven, and of all the beautiful things of this world. God knows and loves the the devil in a natural manner, and also a sinner with no intention of ever converting.

But a catholic, who is the state of grace, he is known and loved by God supernaturally, and that in spite of his maybe numerous defects and weaknesses. There is an entire universe of difference between the knowledge and love of God for a dog, for the devil, and the knowledge and love of God for a baptized soul who lives in the state of grace.

When someone is in the state of grace, then all 3 Persons of the Holy Trinity know and love this person supernaturally, in a special and intimate way. This is what we call Trinitarian inhabitation.

When the Holy Trinity is present in this way in someone, then the source of all actions & operations in this person is supernatural. In persons who do not live in the state of grace, the source of their actions and operations is simply natural. In a person in whom the Holy Trinity dwells supernaturally, the supernatural virtues & the 7 Gifts of Holy Ghost are the source of actions and operations. The person in question, therefore, lives and acts in a divine manner. This explains the apparent ¡°superpowers¡± —superwisdom, supercourage, superpatience, superdurability, superchastity etc.— that we see in the Saints.

The presence of the Trinity when corresponded to with love produces the fruits of the Holy Ghost taught by St. Paul: charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity, meekness, modesty, faith, chastity. These characterize the Saints.

Cultivating grace, acquiring and practicing virtues, the presence of Holy Trinity in souls, these do not simply produce Saints but also are the reasons why Christian society, Christian civilization, the Catholic City, or what we also call Christendom, exists.

True, to construct the 2000 year old Christian civilization, this ¡°Kingdom of Heaven¡± here on earth, it was necessary to constantly preach the Catholic faith, combat enemies, defend Catholic doctrine, restore order again and again, and it was equally necessary to shed blood in the 1st 300 yrs, and equally necessary to shed blood every now and then, still all these would have been ineffective and meaningless if the individuals who make up the Catholic Church throughout time did not construct the Kingdom of Heaven within themselves, by cultivating grace, practicing virtue and growing in holiness.

How can there be errors in our minds or immoralities in our hearts if we all treasure the intimate Presence of the Trinity in our souls? How can men live in a fraternal society, as brothers, if they do not live under the presence and gaze of only One heavenly Father, source of all goodness? How can there be no Christian civilization if, by the presence of the Holy Trinity, each soul lives according to the trinity of virtues of faith, hope & charity?

Christian civilization had to be constructed at the individual level before at the social level. The Kingdom of God had to be constructed first in the hearts of men before in the laws, traditions, arts and sciences of nations.

But a little more than 200 years ago, men —Catholic men— because of pride, wanted to replace the Holy Trinity with another trinity. Instead of the sweet yoke of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost, the revolutions that set the world on fire replaced that yoke with that of liberty, equality & brotherhood or fraternity, which are 3 forms of the same sin of pride. Liberty that rejects the rights of God over us. Equality that rejects the order established by God over us. Brotherhood with fellowmen that rejects having God as the common Father of all.
Today, there is a modern trinity: that of the state, the economy, and technology, which are the 3 forms of the same sin of pride, the 2 sides of the same proverbial coin, which are communism and capitalism.

There are still other trinities meant to replace the Holy Trinity but all of them can be reduced to the trinity of the devil, the world, and the flesh. By replacing the Holy Trinity with false trinities, modern man not only lost supernatural grace, modern man also ruined nature itself.

Seeing that Christian civilization crumbles, modern man tries to apply false remedies. Why false remedies? The problem is that modern man wants the benefits of God¡¯s presence in souls and in society but does not want at all God¡¯s presence. So, here is how modern man tried to create a heaven on earth but without God:

Firstly by modern education. There¡¯s no period in the history of the human race when there is so, so much instruction, education, information, but there¡¯s also no period in history when men has almost no access to the truth! So much learning but of truth almost nothing!

Modern education saturates the minds of the students with almost infinite knowledge, but they do not teach today¡¯s students He Who is existence Himself. In so doing they fail to teach students how to live. Education is not about knowing how to do things, it is about knowing how to live worthily in this life so as to get to eternal life. That is why no educational system or method can form better men unless they teach men that they have a soul to save.
The 2nd remedy of modern men is adaptation of moral standards. It¡¯s like adapting what constitutes as right or wrong when too many people are opting for what is wrong so as not to hurt their sensibilities. All this simply because accepting what is right or wrong from the Author of human nature is simply too uncomfortable for modern men¡¯s self love. And to legitimize this new but artificial classification of ¡°sick¡± people as ¡°healthy¡± people, the magic word ¡°discrimination¡± is used. Unfortunately man cannot be really good by ethics alone —specially falsified ethics— but by Catholic morality.

Third remedy. Modern men say: ¡°OK, education and false ethics instead of morals didn¡¯t work. So let¡¯s make human intelligence progress to the maximum. Then all will be solved.¡± And so modern man developed human wisdom, made it progress, but independent of its Creator. So much so that modern man repeats by his deeds the words of Lucifer: ¡°I will not serve! And I will place my throne at the same level as the throne of the Most High.¡±

Since human reason had to be ¡°liberated¡± from God, so today¡¯s human wisdom had to set aside the purpose and finality of our existence. The result is human wisdom specializing in the means by which man reaches the finality of his existence. This apparently perfected human wisdom engendered both capitalism and communism, both doctrines having been condemned by the Infallible Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. That¡¯s why people today are not interested in the essence of things but only in the utility of things. Communism is the enslavement of men by fear. Capitalism is the enslavement of men by concupiscence.

The consequence of this enslavement would be: men will not want to act in order to be good men.

Men would only want to act in order to acquire superiority or pleasure or both. Men will then later classify their fellow men not as good or bad, but as useful or useless. All these we can observe in the modern laws, modern ¡°healthcare¡±, modern technologies.

Fourth remedy. Seeing that things are still not better than before, the purported wise men of our age said: ¡°Let us fortify the human will and all will be alright¡±. This too is a false remedy. For a sick human will cannot cure a sick human nature. Our will is not exterior to ourselves.

Our will today is what we¡¯ve made of it with all our past choices and decisions, right or wrong. This false remedy has accomplished only one thing: that of adapting transcendental truths and moral judgements to the sphere of the merely sentimental. It has a name: modernism. And this is what we see in parishes and churches, in government halls, in modern culture: everything is reduced to the merely sentimental. Modernist Catholicism is exactly that. Truth is rejected in the name of something sentimentally more acceptable, even if it means living in a dreamworld. When truth is rejected, the only logical outcome is that good will be called evil, and evil will be called good.

If only modern men, modern Catholics, would again appreciate and love that ineffable presence of the Holy Trinity in our souls! Then men would know what that precious gift of grace is all about. Grace is all about God dwelling in us and making us partake of his divinity in this life so that we may share with his eternal happiness in the next.

That is why we have to have this ¡°courtesy¡± with God: we should not allow that His grace go to waste in each of us. Remember that grace, and each Sacrament for that matter, is worth the Precious Blood of Our Lord.

Another ¡°courtesy¡± that we should have with God is not to misuse time. We misuse time when we are content in simply not going to hell and we don¡¯t take growing in grace seriously. What about the Divine Persons Who inhabit our souls? Have we forgotten that only God is Lord of both time and eternity? The time that we have is not ours but it is only a loan. Why does God give us time? So that by dwelling in us for a time we may be given the chance to dwell in His eternity.

And if we are really, really concerned about the current state of the Catholic Church and of Christian civilization, the contribution that is expected of us is not ranting nor bragging in social media or in the internet. That necessary contribution expected of us is by God Himself is our growth in sanctity.
To cultivate grace in our soul means to deepen the inhabitation of the Holy Trinity in our souls: frequent reception of the Sacraments, form good habits and to combat the bad ones, to habitually practice good deeds, to conquer ourselves and our bad inclinations.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary help us all to be more and more worthy of being God¡¯s children and also Her own.
