혼인(1): 개신교인과의 결혼

질문 몇 가지 기술적인 문제로 인해 때때로 가톨릭 신자들이 개신교 교회에서 결혼하게 됩니다. 대부분의 경우 배우자가 개신교인이고 해서 가톨릭 교회에서 결혼하려 하지 않습니다. 이와 같은 일이 일어난다면 혼인에 무슨 일이 있나요? 그 결혼은 유효한가요?

답변 만약 가톨릭 신자가 가톨릭 교회 밖에서 결혼하면 그 혼인은 대부분 무효가 될 것입니다... 만약 주교가 ‘교회법상의 형성(조건)으로부터’ 사면 –간혹 이루어지긴 합니다-하지 않는다면 무효입니다. 그러나 그 사면 자체가 악한 표양(스캔들)입니다. 결혼은 유효하다 하지만 신앙에 위배됩니다. 그 배우자는 예를 들어 성공회나 다른 개신교도 좋다하면서 그리로 갈 생각을 할 것입니다.

          Marriage in a Protestant Church

Q  Sometimes because of technical problems, Catholics are forced to marry in a Protestant church. Mostly, because the partner is a Protestant and unwilling to marry in the Catholic Church. If such thing happened, what would happen to the marriage? Is it valid?

A  If a Catholic marries outside the Catholic Church, the marriage is most likely invalid – unless the bishop dispensed them “from canonical form”, which is sometimes done: but that dispensation itself is a scandal: it does make the marriage valid, but it offends the Faith; the couple is going to think that the Anglican church (or any other sect) is ok…
