로사라오 축일(Our Lady of the Rosary)

Today we celebrate Our Lady of the Rosary. The first word of this Mass is ‘gaudemus’, it means ‘let us rejoice’. And we are not alone in rejoicing, for the introit adds that the angels also rejoice in this solemnity and give glory to the Son of God. The Blessed Virgin Mary is a source of joy for all Christians and also for the good angels of God. In contrast, we know that, since the beginning, the devil has deeply hated the Blessed Virgin Mary and that there is a war between the two. To be on God's side is therefore to be on the side of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On the contrary, to oppose the Blessed Virgin Mary is to be on Satan's side. For this reason, there is a sure way to know if we are on the right path in our spiritual life: are we drawing closer to or moving away from the Blessed Virgin Mary? This is one of the most important criteria of spiritual life.

This love for the Blessed Virgin Mary is expressed above all through the prayer of the Rosary. By making this feast of the Holy Rosary a feast of the liturgical calendar of the universal Church, the Church has, in a sense, made the prayer of the Rosary part of the official prayer of the Church; the prayer of the Rosary is part of every authentic Christian life. The Rosary is the privileged means of expressing our love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, but we must also sometimes evaluate the way we pray the Rosary, for sometimes we do so out of habit, in a mechanical way. So let us ask ourselves: when we pray the Rosary, do we do so out of love for the Blessed Virgin?

복되신 동정 마리아의 이 사랑은 무엇보다도 로자리오 기도를 통해서 표현됩니다. 보편 성 교회의 전례력에서 이 거룩한 로자리오 첨례일을 지냄으로써 성 교회가 어떤 의미에서는 성 교회의 공식 도문들 중 묵주신공(매괴경)을 만들었습니다; 매괴경은 진정한 그리스도인의 모든 삶의 부분입니다. 매괴경은 복되신 동정 마리아에 대한 우리 사랑을 표현하는 특권적인 수단입니다. 그러나 우리는 때때로 매괴경을 바치는 방법을 되돌아 봐야만 합니다. 때로는 우리가 기계적으로 습관에 빠져 행하기 때문입니다. 그러므로 우리 스스로 자문해 봅시다: 우리가 매괴경을 바칠 때, 복되신 동정녀에 대한 사랑에서 우러나 하는 것인가?

Dear faithful, today is a day of joy. Let us rejoice with the Church and the angels of God for the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary at our side, and let us ask for a greater love for her, especially in our daily prayer of the Rosary.

사랑하는 교형자매 여러분, 오늘은 환희의 날입니다. 성 교회와 천주님의 천신들과 함께 우리 편에 계신 복되신 동정 마리아 현존하심에 대해 우리 크게 기뻐합시다. 그리고 특히 우리들의 매일 매일의 매괴경에서 성모께 대한 더 큰 사랑을 청하도록 합시다.
